A total of twelve group sessions took place in 2023 and 2024 in which the Ru - ok? Participations Worker, a Social Worker based in the Adolescent Service and a Youth Justice Worker engaged young people in co - producing a guide that seeks to help services better engage and serve LGBTQ young people. Some of the young people who attended these sessions are continuing to work with the Participations worker to create more detailed audio - visual presentations which offer more comprehensive insights into issues facing LGBTQ young people such as substance misuse and trans identity being respected by services. These audio - visual resources will be available later this year Although the aim of the sessions were to focus on substance misuse services, sexual health services and support services, it became clear when listening to the feedback of the young people attending that they want professionals to understand the wider experiences of LGBTQ people; including their views on how other services (such as mental health services) have supported them. The young people attending these sessions felt this needed to be explored within the sessions and in the finalized guide and supplementary report. They have highlighted that problematic drug and alcohol use is often symptomatic of wider issues or problems and therefore it is relevant to talk about their experiences of getting support for those wider problems. We reflect on the paper from Hahn - Goldberg et al. (2024) who shared key learnings from a pan - Canadian quality improvement (QI) and patient engagement care transition initi - ative called Bridge - to - Home. In considering the approach and outcomes presented in their paper, we have generated reflec - tions and practical suggestions on how to amplify engagement work even further: (1) patient engagement and QI are about relationships; (2) seamlessly implementing complex interven - tions across siloed organizations continues to be a challenge, which engagement alone cannot solve; (3) it is time for a paradigm shift; (4) QI is about human behaviour change and is inherently messy; and (5) embedding fulsome evaluation of engagement is essential. Which technologies offer the biggest opportunities to save time in the NHS?

In the face of huge demand pressures, technology presents a significant opportunity to support workforce capacity in the NHS, as recognised in the 2024 Spring Budget and NHS Long Term Workforce Plan. Drawing on new Health Foundation research - including a UK - wide clinical staff survey and expert interviews - this analysis spotlights clinicians' views about which technologies might help the NHS boost productivity and release time for care, and sets out what steps will be important to realise these gains. Our survey found that electronic health records (EHRs) and tools for professional - to - professional communication (including videoconferencing and digital messaging tools) ranked highest in terms of which technologies are saving staff time right now. This contrasts with the typical health policy emphasis on cutting - edge clinical and patient - facing technologies. Maximising opportunities to free up time in the NHS will require focusing on technologies that can help with administrative and operational tasks and inter - professional communication as well as clinical tasks.
