It explores what products and practices organisations should move away from as part of a plan for health, growth and prosperity, both in the workplace and in the wider economy.

The effectiveness of government in tackling homelessness

Details:

This report looks at progress on homelessness since the introduction of the Homelessness Reduction Act (HRA) in 2017. It finds that despite the introduction of the HRA, homelessness numbers are at a record level and expected to increase. While the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has developed much better homelessness data and stronger links with local authorities, the government still has no strategy or public targets for reducing statutory homelessness, and DLUHC is falling behind on key programmes to improve housing supply. Funding remains fragmented and generally short term, inhibiting homelessness prevention work and limiting investment in good-quality temporary accommodation or other forms of housing.

Access to NHS dental care continues to be one of the main issues that Healthwatch England hear about; communities across England have made it clear that NHS dentistry is not affordable and accessible. Healthwatch England are calling for long-term fundamental reforms to NHS Dentistry. Nationally, there have been a number of short-term interventions aimed at increasing NHS capacity. We have also heard from NHS leaders working locally to increase NHS dental capacity where possible, particularly in areas that are particularly affected. In Surrey, residents have been sharing their experiences with Healthwatch Surrey.
